The Company We Keep

December 26th

It's better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you’ll drift in that direction.

Warren Buffett

The associates we choose play a critical role in shaping our character and outlook. These aren't comparisons, leading to self-doubt, but opportunities to seek those who inspire us to elevate our own attitudes and actions.

Characters are malleable, subtly influenced by those around us. Consciously spending time with people who exhibit admirable qualities sets us on a path towards adopting similar positive traits. This 'drift' is a gradual journey towards improvement, a slow but steady process of becoming better.

Assess your current circle. Do they encourage growth or do they limit potential? Are they complacent with mediocrity or do they challenge for better? Investing in the right people is as critical as investing in the right stocks.
