The Moat of 'No'

July 20th

You've gotta keep control of your time, and you can't unless you say no. You can’t let people set your agenda in life.

Warren Buffett

Control over your time is the lifeblood of effective investing. Like money, time is a finite resource that must be managed with deliberate care. This extends to saying no to time-consuming endeavors that offer little return or distraction from careful decision-making. Assertiveness and independent decision-making are integral to this, allowing you to be the architect of your own agenda.

Saying no is not always easy. We fear missed opportunities, damaging relationships, or appearing ungenerous. However, the power of 'no' is not in rejection, but in the affirmation of your own priorities.

As you navigate your investment journey, consider time as you would your portfolio. 'No' becomes the moat that protects your most valuable asset: your time. The quiet, consistent effort in managing your time may seem unremarkable at first, but over time, it yields significant returns in productivity, focus, and balance.
