The Courage to Change
January 3rd
Should you find yourself in a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is likely to be more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.
When we find ourselves in ventures, projects, or investments that continually drain our resources, it's time to consider changing course. Such hard decisions involve admitting mistakes and letting go of sunk costs, but they allow for redirection towards more promising opportunities.
This insight isn't confined to investments. It applies to any situation that continually erodes energy and spirit, including unfulfilling jobs or destructive relationships. The comfort of the known often holds us back from seeking change, yet those who achieve real success recognize the unproductive and have the courage to change.
Time and energy are invaluable resources. Invest them wisely, just as you would your money. In investing and life, knowing when to change course is as crucial as knowing when to stay committed. Remember, the greatest growth often comes from the ability to move on from the chronically failing, and to seek and seize new opportunities.
